NSWTA State Conference and Blues Dinner

first_imgIt will be a busy weekend for the NSWTA, with the State Conference as well as their Blues Awards Dinner at the Bankstown Sports Club. The 2010 State Conference held on Saturday, 16 October and Sunday, 17 October 2010, offers the opportunity for New South Wales associations and members to develop through best practice methods and innovative strategies to improve the sport in a holistic manner from grass roots through to the elite levels. The message of ‘work smarter not harder’ will be focused upon to assist the most valuable asset in our sport –  you – in ensuring our sport’s future is secure through the implantation of best practice strategies and solutions.  This year there are two core focuses of the conference – the first being volunteers, their recruitment, retention and development and the other core focus is coaching, educating and skill updating on all versions of the game headed by the attendance of the incumbent national Open coaches, as well as other guest presenters. The Awards Dinner is the defining evening where volunteers, coaches, referees, selectors and players are presented with their awards in front of their peers. The night will also have the multi-talented Peter FitzSimons as a guest speaker. The journalist and former Wallaby is an ideal fit for this year’s dinner with his passionate stories and all Australian humour.  The nominees for the awards are: Rod Wise Medal (Volunteer of the Year) Kellie Johnson – Wallsend Touch Association Gary Croft – Parramatta Touch Association John Ryan – Eastern Suburbs Touch Association Lyn Eason – Forster Tuncurry Touch Association Administrator of the Year  Northern Eagles Chris Veech – Port Macquarie Touch Association Kim Coe – Tamworth Touch Association Jenny McFarlane – Lismore Touch Association Graham Goodwin – Taree Touch Association Southern Suns Annette Thomas Schumacher – Jerrabomberra Touch Association Dave Baggio – Wagga Wagga Touch Association Karen Strachan – Griffith Touch Association Gary Brickell – Wollongong Touch Association Hunter Western Hornets Julie Andrews – Wallsend Touch Association Kerry Campbell- Newcastle City Touch Association Neil Webster – Dubbo Touch Association Rod Dillon – Peninsula Senior Touch Association Sydney Scorpions Kim Solomon- Northern Suburbs Touch Association Carol Jones – Hornsby Touch Association Gary Noel – Ryde Eastwood Touch Association Sue Jones – Manly Warringah Touch Association Sydney Mets Deanne Rushworth – Blacktown Touch Association Gary Harvey – Western Suburbs Touch Association Steve Heggety – Concord Touch Association Joe Dougall – Balmain Juniors Touch Association Sydney Rebels John Ryan – Eastern Suburbs Touch Association Aileen May – Taren Point Touch Association Gab Rose – Cronulla Sutherland Touch Association Kylie Mazloum – Bankstown Juniors Touch Association Affiliate of the Year  Northern Eagles Port Macquarie Touch Association Ballina Touch Association Tamworth Touch Association Murwillumbah Touch Association Southern Suns Wollongong Touch Association Wagga Wagga Touch Association Griffith Touch Association Goulburn Touch Association Hunter Western Hornets Wallsend Touch Association Scone Touch Association Dubbo Touch Association Central Coast Touch Association Sydney Scorpions Northern Suburbs Touch Association Warringah Juniors Touch Association Parramatta Touch Association Manly Warringah Touch Association  Sydney Mets Penrith Touch Association  Western Suburbs Touch Association Lower Blue Mountains Touch Association Balmain Juniors Touch Association Sydney Rebels Eastern Suburbs Touch Association Taren Point Touch Association Sydney University Touch Association Bankstown Juniors Touch Association Region of the Year  Southern Suns Sydney Scorpions Hunter Western Hornets Coach of the Year Milad Almaoui – Western Suburbs Touch Association and Sydney Mets Touch Association Tony Trad – Western Suburbs Touch Association and Australia          Terry Cooper – Hornsby Touch Association and Sydney Scorpions   Dave Collins – Penrith Panthers    Junior Coach of the Year  Brooke Playford Dave Nolan Simone Dalton Selector of the Year Barry Gibson Cathy Richards Ron Hanson Kevin Kara Male Player of the Year Dylan Hennessey             Ben Moylan        Anthony Ziade  Nick Good           Female Player of the Year  Kelly Woods       Louise Winchester           Jess McCall         Nicole McHugh Junior Male Player of the Year Sam Brisby          Joe Ng  Jordon Marshall                Josh Gillard         Junior Female Player of the Year Sam Hammond Alicia Quirk          Sarah Peattie     Ash QuinlanFor more information, please visit the New South Wales Touch Association’s website – www.nswtouch.com.aulast_img
